we feel passionate about interior design

and the undeniable impact it has when done intentionally.  Although our personal style leans towards contemporary with a touch of mid-mod in mostly neutrals, we love working with all styles and all color palettes. Through our personalized design service we translate your story into the perfect interior for you, reflecting your personality and lifestyle or your business and vision.

Since we work out of The Netherlands and Sweden, we've chosen English as the basic language for our website. Nederlands is onze moedertaal, samt att Kim talar flytande svenska und Lynn spricht fließend Deutsch.

Education, talent, creativity and experience has helped us develop into the team that we are today.

The name Spiegel & Steen
is based on our grandmother Lydia Tielman van der Spiegel, a strong and independent woman with a refined and clever sense of style. She could make anything look classy even when resources were limited. Very Coco. 

When we were kids we would send her postcards jokingly made out to Mrs Von der Spiegel und Stein, which always brought a smile to her face.

Besides that, the words Spiegel (mirror) & Steen (rock) have another meaning to us, to mirror one self as a learning opportunity and of course rock stands for a strong foundation to build on. 

Coming from a line of strong creative women with great sense of style, not only like our grandmother but also our mother Diet Zandvoort Tielman, as an homage to the women before us, we move forward, knowing that they are always with us.
